Excursion: Sélestat and Colmar

The excursion on Saturday, 5 September 2026 led the group from Strasbourg to Sélestat for a visit to the Bibliothèque humaniste, where the collections associated with Beatus Rhenanus offered a vivid glimpse into the intellectual world of the Upper Rhine in the early modern period. The journey continued to Colmar, with a shared lunch near the museum and a guided tour of the Musée Unterlinden. A highlight of the visit was the encounter with the Isenheim Altarpiece. Afterwards, participants enjoyed time for individual exploration in the museum or in the old town. The day concluded with the return to Strasbourg, marking the end of the 2026 International Conference.
