Phil Price studied Modern Languages at the University of Oxford and worked in marketing and management until his retirement a few years ago. Since then he works (very) part-time as an interpreter in French and German. He conducts London Gallery Quire and has set up and conducts With Cheerful Voice, a choir which sings services for cathedrals. As well as his involvement with IAH, Phil is a trustee of the West Gallery Music Association, a committee member of the Hymn Society of Great Britain & Ireland, and a Regional Editor for the German language for the Canterbury Dictionary of Hymnology.
Immersed in hymns since childhood, his particular interest is the historical development of hymns, and returning some of the forgotten treasures of the past few hundred years to performance and church services.
